(NAR) VOL. 7 NO. 3 / JULY-SEPTEMBER 1996

[ SRA CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 29, SERIES OF 1995-96, May 20, 1996 ]

SEGREGATION OF IMPORTED RAW SUGAR CLASSIFIED AS "C" OR RESERVE SUGAR FROM DOMESTICALLY PRODUCED RAW SUGAR

The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), in the exercise of its regulatory functions, hereby directs all concerned sugar mills/refineries whose warehouses are storing both domestically produced raw sugar and imported raw sugar which has been classsified by the SRA as "C" or Reserve sugar, to see to it that the piles of the aforesaid sugar are properly and distinctly separated from one another to prevent co-mingling of the sugar, and to ensure the accuracy/precision in the conduct of physical sugar inventory whenever the SRA deemed it necessary to do so.

Likewise, all concerned bulk terminal/loading ports whose warehouses are storing domestically produced raw sugar for export and imported raw sugar classified as "C" or Reserve sugar are hereby directed to segregate the piles of the said sugar properly and distinctly to prevent co-mingling so as to ensure that only domestically produced raw sugar are exported to the United States.

This Circular Letter shall take effect immediately.
