AMENDING DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 96-963 (MODERNIZATION OF PUBLIC LAND TRANSPORT SERVICES) EXTENSION OF TAXI SERVICES' MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT FOR CPC ALLOCATION FROM TEN (10) TO THIRTEEN (13) YEARS OLD



This Department on 31 July 1996, issued Department Order 96-963 "Modernization of Public Transport Services."  However, based on the results of consultation with various transport groups and in response to the clamor of taxi operators and drivers, the said Department Order is hereby amended and modified to read as follows:

"For taxis

The model year of the unit should not be more than thirteen (13) years old."

Effectively, the minimum age requirement for the operations of taxis is hereby extended from ten years old to 13 years old, reckoned from the date of manufacture.

All previous issuances/orders/memoranda that are inconsistent herewith are hereby superseded, revoked and/or nullified.

This Department Order shall take effect immediately.
