[ PRC BOARD OF VETERINARY MEDICINE RESOLUTION NO. 02, S. OF 2007, December 14, 2007 ]

ADOPTION AND PROMULGATION OF THE SYLLABI FOR THE SUBJECTS IN THE BOARD LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS FOR VETERINARIANS



WHEREAS, Section 14, Article III of Republic Act No. 9268, known as the “The Philippine Veterinary Act of 2004”, and Section 14, Rule III of Resolution No. 10, Series of 2004, known as the “IRR of Philippine Veterinary Medicine Act of 2004”, provide the subjects for the Board licensure examinations for veterinarians;

WHEREAS, Sec. 9 (h) of R.A. 8981, known as the “PRC Modernization Act of 2000”, empowers the Board:” x x x to prepare, adopt and issue syllabi or tables of specification in consultation with the academe; determine and prepare the questions which shall be strictly within the scope of the syllabus or table of specifications of the subject for examination x x x x”;

WHEREAS , the Board is vested with the power to prepare, adopt, issue or amend the syllabi for the subjects in the licensure examination in consultation with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the academe, and the accredited professional organization (Sec. 8, Art. II of R.A. No. 9265 and Sec. 8, Rule II of Res. No. 10, Series of 2004); and

WHEREAS, the syllabi were prepared and adopted by the Board in consultation with various schools, colleges, and universities offering the course of Veterinary Medicine and the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) Inc., and in accordance with the curriculum of the Veterinary Medicine course approved by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) under CHED Memorandum Order No. 15, Series of 2007;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board hereby RESOLVES, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to adopt and promulgate the Syllabi of the Subjects for the Board Licensure Examinations for Veterinarians appearing in Annex “A”[*] as integral part of this Resolution.

The herein Resolution shall be implemented in the 2008 and subsequent Board licensure examinations for veterinarians.

This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its full and complete publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished to the deans/heads of schools, colleges, or universities, offering a course in Veterinary Medicine and the President of the Accredited Professional Organization (APO) for dissemination to all concerned.
