1997 TARIFF RATES ON CARGOES



Pursuant to Sections 7 & 9 of RA 7621, the new tariff rates on cargoes as approved by the Cebu Port Commission per Board Resolution No. 194-97 shall take effect 01 November 1997.

This circular amends all previous orders, circulars, memoranda, and other issuances passed and/or adopted by CPA insofar as they are inconsistent herewith.

Tariff On Cargoes

A.        FOREIGN NON CONTAINERIZED CARGOES

All non-containerized foreign cargoes imported, exported or transhipped through a government-owned port facility shall be charged wharfage for the use of the port facilities on the basis of the total metric or revenue tonnage whichever is applicable, rounded off to the nearest ton, as follows:

D. DOMESTIC CONTAINERIZED CARGOES:

Domestic containerized cargoes (FCL or LCL containers) provided no stuffing and stripping is done inside the port shall be charged wharfage on a per box basis as the box enters or leaves a government owned port facility at the following rates:

E. EMPTY CONTAINERS
Empty containers shall be charged wharfage at 20% of the applicable rates only when these are brought into the country or are transported to other Philippine Ports by vessels other than its owner and manifested as commercial cargoes as evidenced by the covering shipping documents.

Empty containers which are brought into the Philippines and/or transhipped to other domestic ports for use in the exportation of Philippine products shall be exempt from wharfage.

F. The wharfage for all foreign and domestic cargoes whether containerized or not that are loaded or discharged from a vessel at anchor without using any port facility of the government or at a duly registered private ports shall be charged at 50% of the rates per 1995 Port Tariff.
