[ MTC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 01, January 11, 1995 ]

CONTINUED RECOGNITION OF INCOMPANY OR INHOUSE TRAINING PROGRAMS



Further to MTC Memorandum Circular No. 3, Series of 1994 as regards to the continued recognition of expired training permits, and in conformity with agreement reached during the MTC -Technical Working Group meeting held last 9  January 1995 and for purpose of ensuring the continuity of deployment of seafarers overseas, the following additional interim measures are hereby promulgates.

1. All training centers or entities offering and Incompany or in house training programs listed in the “Directory of Philippine Maritime Training Centers  and Institutions and of 31 October 1994 shall continue to be recognized as training centers or entities authorized to offer courses) indicated in the above-mentioned directory.

2. Likewise, all certificates previously issued and to be issued under the said training programs shall continue to be recognized and authenticated according to the usual processes of documentation of seafarers.

The foregoing measures shall take effect immediately upon approval and shall remain effective until such time that a formal accreditation system for this particular training program shall have been established contingent to the full implementation of TESDA under R.A. 7796 or a definitive national policy has been established as regards to the accreditation, regulation and supervision of maritime training center throughout the country.
