EXEMPTION OF CEBU CITY FROM THE COVERAGE OF MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2003-003



The Board, finding validity on the request of transport operators allowing the late filing of Petition for Extension of Validity of CPC, passed Memorandum Circular 2003-003 allowing the acceptance of late filing of Petition for Extension of Validity of CPC until 31 December 2003, subject to the conditions and restrictions found in Memorandum Circular Nos. 2001-003 and 2002-002.

However, upon consultation with Regional Director Benito S. Dy-Cezar, Jr. of LTFRB Regional Office No. 7 regarding the ongoing study to ascertain the present number of public utility vehicles operating or traversing the territorial jurisdiction of Cebu City and addressing the growing traffic congestion thereat, per Regional Director Benito S. Dy-Cezar’s recommendation, the Board hereby resolves to EXEMPT Cebu City from the coverage of said Memorandum Circular 2003-003. Thus, all Petitions for Extension of Validity of CPC with operations touching the territory of Cebu City shall be filed within six (6) months from the date of expiration of the CPC pursuant to Memorandum Circular 95-009.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately fifteen (15) days after due publication.
