(NAR) VOL.8 NO. 4 / OCTOBER - DECEMBER 1997

[ OWWA MEMORANDUM OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 014 SERIES OF 1997, October 01, 1997 ]

ADDENDUM TO MOI NO. 009, SERIES OF 1997, GENERAL POLICIES AND GUIDELINES IN THE DECENTRALIZATION OF THE BURIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

In consonance with the decentralization trust of the Agency, the following promulgated policies and guidelines hereby form part of MOI No. 009, Series of 1997:

I

NON-EXCLUSIVITY OF REGIONAL JURISDICTION ON CLAIMS APPLICATION

Claimants on the program are allowed to apply at any Regional OWWA Units (ROUs) that they consider conveniently located to them or nearest their residence.

II

BUDGET ALLOCATION

Due to the recent decentralization of the program, it is projected that availment of claims in the region shall double, hence, the ROUs shall be allowed up to twice the equivalent of their average amount in claim releases of the preceding year's program implementation for their budget in 1998. Thereafter, the average yearly amount in claims releases of the ROUs shall be followed, but such may increase or decrease depending upon the trends in the deployment of OFWs in their respective regions.

III

EFFECTIVITY

This addendum to MOI No. 009, Series of 1997 takes effect immediately.

Adopted: 01 Oct. 1997
