RELEASE OF FAI RICE IMPORTS ARRIVING AFTER 30 SEPTEMBER 2003



Please take note of attached letter, dated 14 October 2003, with attachment* of Adm. ARTHUR C. YAP, National Food Authority, advising that rice imports arriving after 30 September 2003, the last day of the arrival period for such imports, shall be subject to a "penalty equivalent to 50% of total landed cost payable by the importer to the concerned NFA provincial office at the Port of Discharge."

In connection thereof, BoC shall effect the release of such importations only upon advice of the concerned NFA office that the penalty has been settled, provided all duties/taxes and other appropriate charges due thereon shall have been paid as well.
