[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 44, September 10, 1996 ]

NAMEHIRES



In line with the Administration’s thrust of streamlining the deployment of household workers, and in consonance with its policy of recruitment through accreditation, the processing of employment documents of household workers shall be through foreign placement agencies which are duly accredited by the Administration.

Name hires shall be allowed only for the following;
1. Hirings by immediate members of the family of heads of State/government;

2. Hirings of Ministers, Deputy Ministers and other senior government officials of the host country;

3. Hirings by senior officials of the diplomatic corps and duly recognized international organizations;

4. Hirings by employers residing in countries where Foreign Placement Agencies do not operate.
Household workers who have been recruited as name hires but do not belong to the above categories have until 30 October 1996 to process their employment documents at POEA.
