[ GSIS RESOLUTION NO. 9, January 08, 2003 ]
STOPPAGE OF PAYMENT OF ALL TYPES OF EC CLAIMS OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES
RESOLVED: That, in accordance with the recommendation of the Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Chief Legal Counsel in a memorandum dated January 3, 2003, to DENY the request for reconsideration of the Employees' Compensation Commission, through Commissioner Elmor D. Juridico, Executive Director of the ECC, of GSIS Memorandum Circular 1-2002, which provides for the stoppage of payment of all types of EC claims of government employees if their respective agencies fail to implement the increase (from P30 to P100) in EC contributions and remit the same to the GSIS, effective January 2003.
RESOLVED FURTHER, to INSTRUCT Management to write ECC formally, stating that even before the GSIS Board considers its letter-request, ECC must confirm or acknowledge the P3.5 Billion advanced by the GSIS.
