[ PRC BOARD OF NUTRITION & DIETETICS RESOLUTION NO. 03, s. 1994, May 12, 1994 ]
PROMULGATION OF SYLLABI OF SUBJECTS IN THE NUTRITION AND DIETETICS LICENSURE EXAMINATION
WHEREAS, Sec. 17 of P.D. No. 1286: "Nutrition and Dietetics Decree of 1977" states that "Except as otherwise specifically provided herein, all applicants for registration as nutritionist-dietitian shall undergo the required technical examinations in accordance with this Decree";
WHEREAS, "the examinations for the practice of nutrition and dietetics in the Philippines shall consist of written tests which shall cover subjects as the Board may prescribe";
WHEREAS, the Board has prescribed examination subjects, namely: Nutritional Biochemistry and Clinical Dietetics (35%). Applied Nutrition and Public Health (30%), and Foods and Food service Systems (35%);
WHEREAS, Memorandum Circular No. 08, Series of 1992 of the Commission directed every Board to prescribe and adopt a syllabus of every examination subject; and
WHEREAS, after consultation with the academe, the accredited association of nutritionist-dietitians, and the DECS, the Board came out with the syllabi of the examination subjects.
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of Sec. 4 (d) and (h) of P.D. 1286 and Sec. 6 (a) of P.D. 223, the Board hereby RESOLVED, as it so now RESOLVES, to prescribe, issue and adopt syllabi of subjects in the Nutritionist-Dietitians Licensure Examination (Annex "A") * .
FURTHER, RESOLVED, upon approval hereof by the Commission, this Resolution shall be effective after fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation.
FURTHERMORE, RESOLVED, the syllabi shall be enforceable three (3) months prior to the first applicable examination and upon effectivity of the herein resolution.
FINALLY, RESOLVED, this Resolution be disseminated and circulated widely to all concerned schools, colleges and universities offering the course of nutrition and dietetics.
