[ NTC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 3-1-92, January 23, 1992 ]

GUIDELINES IN THE ACCEPTANCE AND PROCESSING OF APPLICATION FOR COMMERCIAL RADIOTELEGRAPH/RADIOTELEPHONE OPERATOR EXAMINATIONS FILED BY GRADUATES OF INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN COURSE (IETC) AND BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INDUSTRIAL EDUCATION MAJOR IN ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY



Pursuant to the provisions of the Radio Control Law, Act 3846, as amended, and the Memorandum of Agreement entered into by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports/Bureau of Technical and Vocational Education and the Department of Transportation and Communications/National Telecommunications Commission on 26 April 1990, the following guidelines in the acceptance and processing of applications for commercial radiotelegraph/radiotelephone operator examination is hereby promulgated:

1. Application for commercial radiotelegraph and radiotelephone operator examination filed by graduates of Industrial Electronics Technician Course (IETC) and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education major in Electronics Technology with special order number (SO#) from DECS prior to the approval of this Circular shall be accepted and processed by this Commission.

2. Graduates of above-mentioned courses who have passed the NTC licensure examination shall be issued the radio operator certificate upon filing of its properly accomplished application forms and payment of the corresponding fees.

3. Radio operator certificates issued to graduates of IETC prior to the approval of this Circular shall remain valid and may be renewed upon filing of the properly accomplished application forms for renewal and payment of the corresponding fees.

4. The Commission shall not accept any application for radio operator examination filed by graduates of radio communication courses other than a) General Radio Communications Operator Course (GRCO), b) Communications Technician Course, and c) Broadcast Technician Course, from the date of approval/implementation of this Circular.

This Circular takes effect immediately and supersedes any other, circular, instruction, or memorandum or any part thereof which are inconsistent herewith.

Strict compliance is herewith enjoined.
