PROHIBITION ON THE USE OF CELLULAR PHONE



Please be informed that the Philracom Board, in its meeting held last July 5, 2005, after due deliberation, resolved to amend by addition PR 115 of the HORSE RACING RULES AND REGULATIONS MORE SPECIFICALLY ON THE PROHIBITION ON THE USE OF CELLULAR PHONE AT THE CLUBS RESTRICTED AREA.

QUALIFICATION OF THE RULE:

 

PR 115 - PROHIBITION ON THE USE OF CELLULAR PHONE AT THE CLUBS RESTRICTED AREA - During racing days, the use of cellular phones shall not be allowed at the following restricted areas: Stewards Stand; Jockey's Quarter; Paddock; and Computer Room. In case of violation, corresponding penalties shall be imposed at the discretion of the Commission.

 

ANY JOCKEY CAUGHT IN POSSESSION OF A CELLULAR PHONE, WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR THREE MONTHS INCLUDING HIS HELPER AND THE ASSIGNED OFFICER IN CHARGE OF THE DAY. THE PENALTY IMPOSED IS NOT APPEALABLE & THE CELLULAR PHONE WILL BE CONFISCATED AND WILL BE RETURNED ONLY UPON SERVICE OF THE PENALTY.

 

LIKEWISE, ANY HELPER CAUGHT IN POSSESSION OF A CELLULAR PHONE WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR THREE (3) MONTHS INCLUDING HIS JOCKEY AND THE ASSIGNED OFFICER IN CHARGE OF THE DAY. SUSPENSION IS ALSO NOT APPEALABLE AND THE CELLPHONE WILL BE CONFISCATED WHILE SERVING THE SUSPENSION.

 

This rule takes effect immediately.
