[ BI MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. MCL-09-006, July 29, 2009 ]

GRANTING VISA FREE ENTRY TO THE PHILIPPINES WITH SEVEN (7) DAYS INITIAL AUTHORIZED STAY TO CHINESE NATIONALS WITH VALID AND CURRENT AMERICAN, JAPANESE, AUSTRALIAN, CANADIAN OR SCHENGEN VISA



In support of the national government’s program to promote and encourage tourism development, and consistent with Section 9(a) of Commonwealth Act No. 613, otherwise, known as the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, as amended, all Chinese nationals WITH VALID AND CURRENT AMERICAN, JAPANESE, AUSTRALIAN, CANADIAN OR SCHENGEN VISA, who wish to visit the Philippines for tourism purposes, are hereby allowed to enter the country visa free for an initial authorized stay of seven (7) days.

All other Circulars, Orders and issuances inconsistent with this Memorandum Circular are hereby revoked or modified accordingly.

This shall take effect immediately upon signing of this Memorandum Circular.
