[ SRA SUGAR ORDER NO. 2, September 03, 1999 ]

RELEASE OF TEN PERCENT (10%) OF SUGAR IMPORTATION UNDER EO 87, SERIES OF 1999, AS RAW SUGAR INTO THE DOMESTIC MARKET



WHEREAS, the imported raw sugar pursuant to the bidding rules governing importation under Executive Order No. 87, Series of 1998, 1999, is for tolling/refining;

WHEREAS, total refining of the aforesaid imported sugar shall result to oversupply of refined sugar in the domestic market:

NOW, THEREFORE, under and by virtue of the authority vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), it is hereby ordered that:

SECTION 1. Importers of raw sugar pursuant to EO 87, series of 1998-1999, are hereby authorized to dispose of ten percent (10%) of their imported sugar into the domestic market as raw.

SECTION 2. All concerned importers who wish to sell ten percent (10%) of their total sugar importation shall apply with the SRA, Quezon City for the issuance of Authority to Withdraw Imported Sugar as Raw for domestic market from the mill/refinery warehouses or other designated warehouses of the importers, attached to their applications the following:

a. SRA Clearance for the Release of the Imported Sugar from the Bureau of Customs;

b. Raw sugar quedans issued by the mill/refinery or Joint Certification executed by the SRA and importer to temporarily store the imported sugar at the importers designated warehouse/s prior to refining.

SECTION 3. Withdrawals of the imported raw sugar from the mills/refineries or from designated warehouses of the importers should be in the presence of SRA representative for proper monitoring and control.

SECTION 4. This Sugar Order shall take effect immediately.

SECTION 5. Provisions of Sugar Orders, Circular Letters, rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with this Order are hereby revoked, amended or modified accordingly.
