AMENDING MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 87-0010 BY REDUCING THE PENALTIES FOR REFUSAL OF DRIVERS, BUS CONDUCTORS AND/OR BUS INSPECTORS TO PROVIDE THE AUTHORIZED FARE DISCOUNT TO STUDENTS



Memorandum Circular No. 87-0010 dated 01 October 1991 stipulates, among other provisions, that the license of erring drivers, bus conductors and/or bus inspectors be suspended for specific periods of time for various offenses for refusal to provide entitled students the authorized fare discount.

Cognizant of the difficulties which may result from the suspension the license on the above-mentioned persons and their families who may have no other sources of livelihood, and in view of the representations made by various drivers' associations as well as the commitment of these associations to observe the authorized student fare discount, the penalties imposed by Memorandum Circular No. 87-0010 for corresponding violations are hereby amended as follows:
First Offense - Fine of P50.00
Second Offense - Fine of P75.00
Third Offense - Fine of P100.00
Fourth Offense - Fine of P200.00
This Memorandum supersedes pertinent provisions of Memorandum No. 87-0010, and take effect immediately.
