[ POEA ADVISORY NO. 01, S. 2011, January 26, 2011 ]
DEPLOYMENT BAN
Pursuant to POEA Advisory No. 27, Series of 2010, the POEA wishes to reiterate that the total ban on the deployment of OFWs is still in effect to the following countries pending the resolution of issues on the implementation of R.A. 10022 and therefore vacation passes cannot be issued:
Further, deployment ban to Nigeria includes the entry of Filipino seafarers to Nigeria onboard vessels on liner service calling on Nigerian ports. However, workers-on-leave/ balik-manggagawa workers are exempted from the ban.
Likewise, the deployment of newly hired household service workers (HSWs) to Jordan is temporarily suspended. Balik-manggagawa HSWs returning to the same employer are exempted from the ban, provided that their salary shall not be lower than the prescribed monthly pay for HSWs of US$400.00.
