RESTORATION OF VALIDATION SYSTEM FOR EXIT CLEARANCES AT THE LABOR ASSISTANCE CENTER (LAC)
In line with thrust of the Administration to promote the protection of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), the validation of exit clearances of OFWs will be restored at the Labor Assistance Center at the Airports.
All existing functions of the LAC such as the issuance of “one day-validity” OEC for workers-on-leave (balik-manggagawa) who are on short period/emergency leave, processing of seafarers during weekends and holidays, and information and assistance, are retained.
The validation of exit clearances at the airports shall take effect on 01 March 2011. Agencies are required to inform their hired OFWs of this new procedure.
