[ PRC RESOLUTION NO. 2010-570, August 10, 2010 ]
INCLUSION OF PHOTOS OF THE TEN TOPNOTCHERS IN THE PUBLICATION OF RELEASE OF EXAMINATION RESULTS IN LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS
WHEREAS, Sec. 8 (d) (7) of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A. No. 8981 otherwise known as “PRC Modernization Act of 2000” allows the Commission to publish the list of successful examinees in a newspaper of nationwide circulation within the Philippines, not later than forty-eight (48) hours from release thereof as part of its function to maintain the integrity of its licensure examinations;
WHEREAS, it has been the practice of the Commission and the Professional Regulatory Boards to publish the names of successful examinees and the ten topnotchers in the release of examination results in licensure examinations in accordance with the provision of R.A. No. 8981;
WHEREAS, the inclusion of the photos of the ten topnotchers in the publication of release of examination results in licensure examinations, in addition to their names, can be a source of pride and inspiration to the top ten successful examinees, their families and schools; and
WHEREAS, a good information dissemination likewise, the Commission deemed it appropriate that the photos of the ten topnotchers in licensure examinations be included in the publication of release of examination results by newspapers of nationwide circulation with no extra cost to the Commission.
WHEREFORE, the Commission RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVED, to publish both the names and the photos of the ten topnotchers in the release of the examination results in licensure examinations in a newspaper of nationwide circulation with no additional cost to the Commission.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
