[ NTC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 11-09-2002, September 27, 2002 ]

REQUIRING MINIMUM NUMBER OF STATIONS TO APPLICATIONS FOR AUTHORITY TO ESTABLISH, OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A CONVENTIONAL NON-CARRIER RADIO COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK



Pursuant to Act 3846, as amended and in furtherance to Memorandum Circular No. 10-8-91, and in order to conserve and effectively manage the radio frequency spectrum, the Commission hereby imposes the minimum number of stations, as follows, in the evaluation of new applications for authority to establish, operate and maintain a conventional radio communications network except those network catering national security, public safety and to overcome man-made or natural network barriers which shall be dealt with on a case to case basis:

1.    For Conventional Radio Communications Network on Duplex Mode

Application for new network must have at least twenty-five (25) radio stations per repeater.

2.    For Conventional Radio Communications Network on Simplex Mode

Application for new network must have at least six (6) radio stations.

Provided further that the issuance of radio station license shall at all times comply with the above minimum number of stations.

This Circular shall take effect immediately. Circulars and orders or parts thereof inconsistent herewith are deemed superseded and/or amended accordingly.
