CONFISCATION OF LILY’S PEANUT BUTTER



Samples of the subject product of Newborn Food Products manufactured on July 27, 1992, July 28, 1992, July 29, 1992, July 30, 1992 and August 25, 1992 were found to contain aflatoxin beyond the 20 ppb permissible level.

It has been verified through monitoring reports submitted by BFAD Food and Drug Regulation Officers (FDRO) that stocks of the subject product are still available in the market inspite of the advice to retrieve issued to its manufacturer.

In the interest of consumer protection, all FDROs are hereby advised to confiscate all available stocks of Lily’s Peanut Butter that may be found in the market for condemnation in the presence of a representative of the outlets from where the same were collected.  The FDRO concerned through the Regional Directors shall submit a report on the condemnation to the Legal, Information and Compliance Division immediately thereafter.
