(NAR) VOL. IV NO. 1 / JANUARY - APRIL 1993

[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 04 s. 1993, February 15, 1993 ]

HEPA A & B TESTS REQUIREMENT FOR ALL QATAR BOUND CONTRACT WORKERS

There have been alarming reports from the Office of the Philippine Charge d' Affaires to Doha, Qatar regarding OCWs found by Qatari Department of Preventive Health to be positive with Hepatitis.  Consequently, these "medically unfit" OCWs were repatriated by the Qatari Ministry of Interior.

In view of the above and to ensure that all Filipino contract workers bound for Qatar are Hepatitis free and therefore would not suffer the fate of those found with Hepatitis, all concerned OCWs are hereby required to undergo Hepa A & B Tests in addition to the Basic Medical Examination requirements prior to deployment.

For strict compliance.

Adopted: 15 Feb. 1993
