TRAINING ON SIMULATOR - AIDED INSTRUCTION



WHEREAS, the 1978 STCW Convention, as amended requires that instructors conducting training using simulators shall have appropriate guidance in instructional techniques including the use of simulators and practical operational experience on particular type of simulators being used;

WHEREAS, one of the activities required under the work programme approved by the Council pursuant to the requirements of the Convention, is the training on simulator - aided instruction;

WHEREAS, the IMO has favorably acted on the request of the Maritime Training Council regarding technical assistance in the development of simulator — aided training programme and the conduct of training for Instructors.

Now, therefore, in consideration of the foregoing, resolve, as it is hereby resolved that the Council Secretariat, in coordination with CHED, shall:
  1. Take all the necessary preparations and arrangements for the conduct of the first batch of the training programme.

  2. Ensure the continuing conduct of training programmes for simulator-aided instruction.
