[ LTO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. AHS-2008-937, February 21, 2008 ]

INITIAL REGISTRATION OF IMPORTED MOTOR VEHICLES



In the best interest of public service, the initial registration of imported motor vehicles, except those motor vehicles imported pursuant to the Motor Vehicle Development Program (MVDP), shall be done at the LTO District Office in the region nearest the BOC Port of Entry per Memorandum Circular No. AHS-2008-929 or in any of the four district offices in the National Capital Region (NCR) authorized to initially register imported motor vehicles except exempt motor vehicles which is centralized at Diliman District Office. The four district offices in NCR authorized to initially register imported motor vehicles are Diliman District Office, Pasay District Office, Caloocan District Office and Quezon City District Office. This policy gives an option to the registrant to register the motor vehicle at the LTO district office nearest the BOC Port of Entry or at the four authorized district offices in NCR.

The registering district offices are hereby instructed to see to it that ail inspection and supporting documents for the registration of the motor vehicles are complete and in order prior to the registration of the motor vehicles.

Ali issuances inconsistent with this Memorandum Circular shall be deemed repealed.
