NEW SAUDIZATION REQUIREMENTS



The NITAQAT System also known as the job nationalization policy of Saudi Arabia is on its third phase of implementation. Under the system, all Saudi based private companies/employers employing more than 10 workers are classified into red, yellow, green and platinum, the basis of which is their compliance with the new Saudization requirements wherein companies/employers are required to employ a certain percentage of Saudi nationals in their workforce. In effect, RED and YELLOW companies/employers were given until 26 November 2011 and 23 February 2012 respectively, to comply with the Saudization requirements, otherwise, they will not be allowed to renew the work permits/Iqama of their foreign workers.

In this regard, all agencies deploying overseas Filipino workers, excluding Household Service Workers (HSWs), to Saudi Arabia are required to submit the following:

• Nitaqat classification of their registered/accredited foreign employers
• List of deployed OFWs except Household Service Workers still serving contracts with the above employers
• Report on transfer/terminations of deployed workers due to NITAQAT implementation
