AMENDMENT TO PHILHEALTH CIRCULAR 28, S. 2001 RE: ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENT FOR PHYSICIANS AS MEDICAL SPECIALIST



This is to amend PhilHealth Circular 28, s. 2001 dated October 25, 2001 regarding the documentary requirements for the acreditation of a physician as a medical specialist. As per Accreditation Committee decision on November 16, 2001, a certification of passing the examinations for diplomates issued by the Philippine Specialty Board is now accepted by this Corporation as proof of specialization. A certified true copy of the official Specialty Board Certificate shall be submitted as soon as possible.

Certificates as Associate Fellow, Charter Fellow, Active Member, Certified Specialist, Junior Fellow, certificates issued abroad, residency training certificates, DOH specialist certificates, Diplomate/Fellow certificates issued by the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists are not considered by this Corporation. Provisions in the existing guidelines which are not inconsistent herewith shall remain in force and in effect.
