(NAR) VOL. 23 NO. 1, JANUARY - MARCH 2012

[ PHILRACOM RESOLUTION NO. 19-12, March 01, 2012 ]

ALL HORSES, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, MUST UNDERGO MAIDEN RACES BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THE REGULAR CLASS DIVISION RACES FOR PURPOSES OF UNIFORMITY OF THE APPLICATION OF RACING POLICIES



WHEREAS, the Philippine Racing Commission (Philracom) has the exclusive jurisdiction and control over all aspects of the conduct of horse racing including, but not limited to, the framing and scheduling of races as provided for by Presidential Decree No. 420;

WHEREAS, the Philracom has observed that there were instances in the past that there were horses of various ages that were able to join the regular class division races without having undergone prior Maiden races;

WHEREAS, it is imperative that all horses must undergo maiden races before participating in the regular class division races for purposes of uniformity of the application of racing policies already applied to previous circumstances;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED, as it is hereby RESOLVED by the Philracom Board of Commissioners that all horses, without exception, must undergo Maiden Races before they could participate in the regular Class Division Races:

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be published in the Official Gazette and the Kopya as well as be furnished the Trainer’s Association, Horse Owners Associations, Jockey’s Association and other stakeholders of the industry.
