CLARIFICATION ON DIALYSIS (PHILHEALTH CIRCULAR NO. 14, S. 2003)



Freestanding Dialysis Clinics (FDC's) are non-hospital facilities that provide dialysis service to patients with end-stage renal disease.

Under Circular #14, s. 2003 beginning April 1, 2003, PHIC accredited FDC's shall only be compensated for outpatient dialysis procedure. Dialysis services performed in non-accredited FDC shall only be compensated provided that the facility is licensed by the Department of Health and the case is emergency.

Official Receipts for drugs, medicines and medical supplies used for dialysis with date of purchase within 7 days prior to the actual procedure may be considered for reimbursement.

Claim applications from FDC with confinement of more than one day duration and/or procedures other than outpatient dialysis shall not be compensated unless provided for by the Corporation.
