[ BAS RESOLUTION NO. 1, June 16, 2008 ]

INCREASE IN CHARGES OF FEES RELATED TO BIDDING



WHEREAS, on 31 January 2005, a Resolution1 was approved by the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS) Director authorizing the BAS Bids and Awards Committee (BAS-BAC) to collect fees from the participating bidders;

WHEREAS, in the said Resolution, the fees collected from the bidders shall come from the sale of bid documents, minutes of bidding and other related fees;

WHEREAS, due to the increase in the cost of materials, e.g. toner cartridge, mimeo paper and the likes, the BAC agreed to increase the fees to be collected from the participating bidders;

WHEREAS, the funds collected from the participating bidders shall be used for pay-ment of incidental expenses to be incurred by the BAG in the conduct of meetings, pre-rocurement conferences, pre-bidding and opening of bids;

WHEREAS, the BAS-BAC recommends that the following new rates be charged to the participating bidders who will be interested to join in the Bureau's future biddings;

NOW, THEREFORE, the BAS-BAC hereby resolves as it hereby resolved to recommend, for approval by the Director, the increase in charges for collection of fees related to bidding at the new rates above stated;

RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the BAS-BAC be authorized to immediately effect the collection of new rates from the bidders upon approval of this Resolution.
