[ NTC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 12-11-93, November 23, 1993 ]

PRESCRIBING GUIDELINES FOR THE SPECIAL REGISTRATION OF ILLEGALLY HELD/UNREGISTERED AMATEUR RADIO TRANSCEIVERS/TRANSMITTERS BY AMATEUR OPERATORS WITH VALID AMATEUR CERTIFICATE/LICENSE



WHEREAS, despite previous NTC Memorandum Circulars regarding the registration of illegally held/unregistered radio communications equipment, there still exist numerous unregistered amateur radio transceivers/transmitters;

WHEREAS, there is a need to continuously addressed the existence of these illegally held amateur radio transceivers;

WHEREAS, PARA members are willing to pay the duties and taxes for the illegally held radio transceivers that may be imposed by the Bureau of Customs prior to NTC registration;

NOW, THEREFORE, premises considered, it is hereby directed that all legitimate radio amateur shall be allowed to register their illegally held radio transceivers/transmitters in accordance with the following guidelines:

1.         The following schedule of Registration fees shall be collected by NTC:

2.         Only holders of valid amateur radio operator certificate/license from NTC shall be allowed to register upon showing "proof of payment" on duties and taxes from Bureau of Customs.

3.         The registration shall be held during the 61st Anniversary celebration of PARA to be held on 27 November 1993 (9:00AM to 4:00PM) only at Don Bosco Technical College, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.

4.         Registrant shall apply to NTC for the corresponding Permit/License within thirty (30) days upon registration.

All radio transceivers/transmitters registered under this Circular shall be under the accountability of the registrant.  Any violations pertaining to the use of such registered equipment shall be dealt with in accordance with the existing Radio Regulation.

This Circular takes effect upon approval and may be revised, revoked, or amended as the Commission deems necessary for public interest.
