RELIGIOUS/WORKING VISA TO KOREA
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has warned Filipino applicants for overseas not to easily fall prey to those who promise employment in Korea through the issuance of religious/working visa.
The Administration is currently investigating a letter complaint of Ms. Lorie Humaynon alleging that a certain Mr. Cho Chang Kuy who introduced himself as a pastor of the Kor World International Ministries Church located here in the Philippines and Mr. Oh Gyuk Su, owner KI-S factory in Seoul, Korea had promised to employ her and thirty three (33) other applicants in his company.
Based on the complaint, Mr. Su came to Manila to give applicants a briefing on what to expect when they work in Korea. On the other hand, Mr. Cho allegedly collected from them the total sum of 7.5 million pesos in exchange for religious/working visa but has disppeared without a trace.The Administration has requested the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD-Korea) who is in charge of the Employment Permit System (EPS) Program to provide information on KI-S and if subject employer is an employer participating in the EPS program.
