WHEREAS, Section 37, Art. IV of R.A. No. 9266, known as “The Architecture Act of 2004”, provides for the registration of architectural firms with the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture (the “Board”);

WHEREAS, Board Resolution No. 05, Series of 2007 prescribes the guidelines/procedure for the registration of architectural firms;

WHEREAS, the initial registration period for architectural firms expired in late 2008 and there have been many requests for the official extension of the registration period;

WHEREAS, as of mid-2009 there are already about fifteen (15) registered architectural firms (“RAFs”), juridical persons or entities such as sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and associations;

WHEREAS, the integrated and accredited professional organization of architects (the “IAPOA”) is also a juridical entity registered by the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit corporation and not a “RAF”; and

WHEREAS, the organization of SEC-/DTI-registered architectural firms, i.e., the Council of Consulting Architects and Planners of the Philippines (the “CCAPP”), ceased its operation by the end of 2006;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVED, to extend indefinitely the period for the registration of juridical persons or entities with the Board and the Commission in full compliance with Section 37, Art. IV, of R.A. No. 9266;

RESOLVED, FINALLY, that this Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its full and complete publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.
