[ PRC BOARD OF NURSING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 2009-17, July 31, 2009 ]

PRESCRIBING A DRESS CODE FOR EXAMINEES IN THE NURSES LICENSURE EXAMINATION AND NOT ALLOWING TO THE TESTING CENTERS/EXAMINATION ROOMS THOSE EXAMINEES WHO ARE NOT IN THE PRESCRIBED NURSE UNIFORM



WHEREAS, the Board of Nursing is empowered under Section 9, Paragraph (a) of Republic Act No. 9173 (The Philippine Nursing Act of 2002) to conduct the licensure examination for nurses;

WHEREAS, there were incidents in the past Nurses licensure examinations wherein applicants come to the testing centers/examination rooms not in any of the prescribed Nurse uniform;

WHEREAS, there is a need to impose a dress code to these examinees in order to foster pride in the Nursing profession and to impose disciplinary among them.

WHEREFORE, the Board RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVED, to prescribe the following dress code to examinees:

Female - Clinical Uniform with white shoes and white stockings but without nameplate, school insignia/logo and pin
Pregnant Female - White Clinical Scrub suit
Male - Clinical Uniform with white shoes and white socks but without nameplate, school insignia/logo and pin.

Repeaters may wear White Clinical Scrub suit.

Examinees who are not in the dress code shall not be allowed to take the examination and their examination fees shall be forfeited. Those examinees who were denied entry into the testing center/examination room but would later on arrive in dress code but are already late for that particular examination subject shall likewise not be allowed to take the examination for being late.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished the Board of Nursing, Office of the Director for Licensure, Application Division, Examination Division, Rating Division, ICT Division, Secretariat, Supply and Property Division, Budget Division, Accounting Division, Legal Division, all PRC Regional Offices, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA), and the Presidents and Deans of schools, colleges and universities offering the Nursing course for dissemination to candidates/applicants for the Nurses Licensure Examination.

This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its complete publication in the Official Gazette or in any newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.
