[ PRC BOARD OF NURSING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 2009-20, October 15, 2009 ]

AMENDMENT TO BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 2009-17, SERIES OF 2009 DATED JULY 31, 2009 ON PRESCRIBING A DRESS CODE FOR EXAMINEES IN THE NURSES LICENSURE EXAMINATION



WHEREAS, the Board of Nursing is empowered under Section 9, Paragraph (a) of Republic Act No. 9173 (The Philippine Nursing Act of 2002) to conduct the licensure examination for nurses;

WHEREAS, Board Resolution No. 2009-17, Series of 2009 dated July 31, 2009 prescribed a dress code for examinees in the Nurses Licensure Examination;

WHEREAS, the same Board Resolution provides that examinees who are not in the prescribed dress code will not be allowed to take the examination;

WHEREAS, there is a need to amend said Resolution to add “School Uniform” as another form of attire to be worn by these examinees which is also an appropriate dress for the licensure examination.

WHEREFORE, the Board RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVED, to AMEND Board Resolution No. 2009-17, series of 2009 dated July 31, 2009 by prescribing additional attire to be worn by examinees in the licensure examination as follows:

Female - Clinical Uniform with white shoes and white stockings but without nameplate, school insignia/logo and pin or School Uniform

Pregnant Female - White Clinical Scrub suit

Male - Clinical Uniform with white shoes and white socks but without nameplate, school insignia/logo and pin or School Uniform 

Repeaters may wear White Clinical Scrub suit.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished the Board of Nursing, Office of the Director for Licensure, Application Division, Examination Division, Rating Division, ICT Division, Secretariat, Supply and Property Division, Budget Division, Accounting Division, Legal Division, all PRC Regional Offices, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA), and the Presidents and Deans of schools, colleges and universities offering the Nursing course for dissemination to candidates/applicants for the Nurses Licensure Examination.
 
This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its complete publication in the Official Gazette or in any newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.
