[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2006-002, January 09, 2006 ]

EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR CONVERSION TO POINT TO POINT (P2P) EXPRESS (AUV/VAN EXPRESS)

Due to the clamor of grantees of Certificates of Public Convenience willing to avail of the Conversion Program of the Board pursuant to MC 2005-023, Re: IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATIVE TO THE OPENING OF AUV/VAN EXPRESS, dated July 21, 2005, the Board resolved that the deadline January 6, 2006 be extended to February 6, 2006, which was set as per MC 2005-038, Re: DEADLINE FOR INITIAL COMPLIANCE OF APPLICATION FOR CONVERSION TO AUV/VAN EXPRESS, dated November 14, 2005. However, those who will file their initial compliance beyond the date originally set by this Board are ordered to pay a penalty for late filing amounting to P250.00 per unit.

Accordingly, the second phase of the Conversion Program, which will cover Mega-Taxi and/or Metered Taxi Air-Conditioned Service using AUV’s shall commence on the date as set pursuant to MC 2005-038. Provided however, that only valid and subsisting franchises on the date of the promulgation of this Memorandum Circular can avail of the said program.

This Memorandum Circular supersedes any and all issuances inconsistent herewith, and takes effect immediately.

SO ORDERED.
