(NAR) VOL. 19 NO. 2 / APRIL - JUNE 2008

[ LTO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. AHS-2008-963, May 06, 2008 ]

DISTRICT OFFICES AUTHORIZED TO REGISTER IMPORTED MOTOR VEHICLES

One of the agreements reached during the Cabinet Meeting in Malacanang last March 2008 in relation to the Anti-Smuggling Action Plan is to centralized the registration of all imported cars at the LTO Diliman District Office located at East Avenue Quezon City.

However, considering the volume of transactions being handled by the said district office and as decided with the Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs during a meeting, three other district offices shall also be given authority to accept initial registration of all imported motor vehicles (refers to imported motor vehicles that are not banned by Executive Order No 156). Thus, INITIAL REGISTRATION OF ALL IMPORTED MOTOR VEHICLES SHALL ONLY BE EFFECTED AT ANY OF THE FOUR LTO DISTRICT OFFICES named hereunder:
  1. DILIMAN
  2. PASAY
  3. CALOOCAN
  4. QUEZON CITY
Exempted from this order are the TAX-EXEMPT, which is to be registered with the Diliman District Office only, and all motor vehicle imported by associate members of the Motor Vehicle Development Program (MVDP).

The Heads of the above-named district offices are hereby instructed to submit a monthly report stating therein all the details pertaining to the imported motor vehicle registered within the month.

All orders and/or memoranda that are inconsistent herewith are hereby superseded.

Adopted: 06 May 2008
