UNANIMOUSLY APPROVING THE REVISION ON THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF YEARS OF PRODUCTIVE SCHOLARSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL R&D WORK FOR APPLICANTS TO THE SCIENTIFIC CAREER SYSTEM WITH PHD DEGREE



The Council,

Aware of the provisions on the minimum qualifications for admission into the SCS as stipulated in the revised “Merit System for the Scientific Career System CY 2006, Section 6-Ranks in the Scientific Career System”;

Pursuant to the agreements during the 22nd SCC meeting which was again discussed during 26th SCC meeting of 17 June 2009 to consider 10 years of productive scholarship and professional R&D work proceding the date of application for admission to the System of those with doctorate degree with the intention of standardizing the reckoning period and to further encourage highly productive scientific personnel in the government service;

HEREBY UNAMIMOUSLY REAFFIRMS that effective 04 December 2007, instead of a five-year reckoning period, applicants with PhD degree will be evaluated for entry into the System based on 10 years of productive scholarship and professional R&D work preceding date of application for admission to SCS.
