[ NTC MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 03-03-2011, March 29, 2011 ]

EXTENSION OF THE GENERAL AMNESTY FOR UNLICENSED AND/OR UNREGISTERED RADIO EQUIPMENT



In the interest of public service and pursuant to this Commission’s thrust to abate the proliferation of unlicensed and/or unregistered radio equipment, and in order to afford the owners/possessors/users thereof greater opportunity to comply with existing rules and regulations, it is hereby directed that individuals, companies and/or entities, except radio dealers and manufacturers, be allowed to register their unlicensed and/ or unregistered radio equipment and accessories, excluding CB radios, in accordance with the following guidelines:

  1. The subsequent licensing of all radio equipment registered under and pursuant to this Memorandum Order shall be in accordance with existing rules and regulations and the usual licensing procedures for any radio service.

  2. Registration Period: 29 March 2011 to 31 December 2011

  3. Registration Fees:

A. VHF and UHF Radio Equipment 
 a) Portable - Php 1,500
 b) Mobile /Base - Php 2,000
   
B. HF Radio Equipment 
 a) Low Power (below 50 watts) - Php 2,000
 b) Medium Power (50-500 watts) - Php 3,000
 c) High Power (above 500 watts) - Php 5,000
   
C. VHF/UHF Repeater - Php 3,000
   
D. WDN Outdoor Equipment 
 a) Central/Base - Php 2,000
 b) Subscriber/Remote - Php 1,500

All radio equipment registered under this Memorandum Order shall be under the accountability of the registrant. Registrants and/or applicants may file their registration papers with the Commission through any of its Regional Offices.

The registration of the above-stated radio equipment shall not be construed as an authority to possess, construct and/or operate the same without the corresponding permits/licenses issued therefor. Any violation pertaining to the use of such registered equipment including its use by persons other than the registrant shall be a ground for appropriate administrative sanctions and/or fines and penalties as may be imposed by this Commission.

The Commission reserves the right to reject the registration of any radio equipment if and when warranted under the circumstances in the interest of the public.
