AMENDING SECTION 1 OF EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 780 TRANSFERRING THE DIRECT SUPERVISION AND CONTROL OF THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS OFFICE (TELOF) AND ALL OPERATING UNITS SUPPORTING COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATIONS (DOTC) TO THE COMMISSION ON INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (CICT)



WHEREAS, Executive Order (EO) No. 780, dated 29 January 2009 placed the Telecommunications Office (TELOF) and all other operating units directly supporting Communications, including the Telecommunications Policy and Planning Office under the direct supervision and control of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT);

WHEREAS, there are national development and concomitant development projects that require direct intervention by the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC);

WHEREAS, amending EO No. 780 through the retention of operating units directly supporting communications at the DOTC will effectively address the above requirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of Executive Order No. 780 is hereby amended to read as follows:

“SECTION 1. The Telecommunications Office (TELOF) shall remain under the direct supervision and control of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT). However, all other operating units directly supporting communications, including the Telecommunications Policy and Planning Office, are transferred to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).”

SECTION 2. The Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
