(NAR) VOL. 22 NO. 3, JULY - SEPTEMBER 2011

[ CDC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. CSD 11-330, March 07, 2011 ]

FARE RATE ADJUSTMENTS FOR CLARK PUBLIC UTILITY JEEPNEYS (PUJ)

Please be informed that a New Fare Matrix for Public Utility Jeepneys has been implemented effective March 05, 2011.

Please be informed further that CDC and the Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA) have successfully negotiated for the deferment of several petitions for fare hikes since the implementation of the last fare hike in 2009. However, due to the continuing increase in the prices of fuel products, the Clark Transport.Sector made a difficult and collective decision to invoke the right to pursue the petition for a fare hike but, subsequently, agreed to a compromise in response to CDC & CILA's request for a middle ground accord with the following mechanisms, to wit:

— Minimum fare rate of only Php7.00 instead of the LTFRB-approved rate of Php8.00 for the first 4 kilometers

— Additional Php1.25 instead of Php1.40 for every succeeding kilometer

— Two sets of Fare Matrix are attached for reference (Annexes A & B*)

— To ensure smooth implementation of the New Fare Matrix, all Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ) operators/drivers are required to conspicuously display the New Fare Matrix at their respective vehicles accordingly.

— For violations and complaints concerning the Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ), the com¬muting public may accomplish the attached Form and send it through:

Fax: (045) 599-3212 or 499-0894
Email: csd@clark.com.ph
Mailing address: Bldg. 2125 E.Quirino St. Clark Freeport Zone

For you information and guidance.
