[ DPWH DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 41, S. 2010, August 27, 2010 ]
PRESCRIBING THE USE OF COCONUT BIO-ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS IN DPWH PROJECTS
In order to fully support the program of the government to adopt indigenous products/ technologies in infrastructure projects and generate employment in the countryside, the use of coconut bio-engineering products and solutions in all DPWH projects/activities that involve slope stabilization, soil conditioning, soil erosion prevention, river bank protection and/or hydroseeding is hereby prescribed to be given priority in the design consideration, for the information and guidance of all concerned DPWH Project Implementing Offices.
This Department Order is consistent with D.O. No. 61, series of 2009 entitled "Reiterating D.O. Nos. 28 and 29, both series of 2008, re: DPWH Standard Specifications for By Bio-Engineering Product and Solutions (Item 519) and coconut Bio-Engineering Solutions (Item 518)," respectively and shall take effect immediately.
