[ SUGAR ORDER NO. 5, S. 2005-2006, January 19, 2006 ]

RECLASSIFICATION OF “C” OR RESERVE SUGAR OF CY 2005-2006 INTO “B” OR DOMESTIC SUGAR

WHEREAS, Section 2 (B) of Executive Order (EO) No. 18, Series of 1986, mandates the SRA to establish and maintain such balanced relation between production and requirement of sugar and such marketing conditions as will ensure stabilized prices at levels reasonably profitable to the producers and fair to consumers;

WHEREAS, the unexpected market conditions/situation have rendered the primary objective of the “C” program of CY 2005-2006 at this time of peak production irrelevant, hence to continue the said program is no longer necessary;

WHEREAS, Section 3 of SRA Sugar Order no. 3, Series of 2005-2006, dated 29 November 2005 provides the issuance of another Sugar Order for the reclassification of the “C” or Reserve sugar of CY 2005-2006 into “B” or Domestic sugar;

NOW, THEREFORE, under and by virtue of the authority vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), it is hereby ordered that:

SECTION 1. The “C” or Reserve sugar produced during week endings December 11, 18 & 25, 2005 are hereby reclassified as “B” or Domestic sugar.

SECTION 2. The “C” quedan-permits covering the “C” sugar subject of reclassification when surrendered to the issuing mill companies for the withdrawal therefrom of the corresponding volume of sugar shall be stamped “RECLASSIFIED AS “B” OR DOMESTIC SUGAR PURSUANT TO S.O. NO. 5, SERIES OF 2005-2006” by the SPROs assigned thereat.

SECTION 3. This Order shall take effect immediately.

SECTION 4. Provisions of Sugar Orders, Circular Letters, rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with this Sugar Order are hereby revised, modified or revoked accordingly.
