STANDARDS AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE LICENSURE AND REGULATION OF AMBULATORY SURGICAL CLINICS PROVIDING ORAL AND MAXILLO-FACIAL SURGERY



The Department of Health (DOH) is constitutionally mandated to protect and preserve the health of the people including oral health. In support to its-mandate, the DOH issued Administrative Order No. 183 s. 2004 dated November 16, 2004, known as "Rules and Regulations Governing the Licensure and Regulation of Ambulatory Surgical Clinics."

Pursuant to Section IV of the Administrative Order, ambulatory surgical clinics shall be classified according to services/procedures performed by the different surgical special ties and the criteria for the standards and technical requirements shall be incorporated in the inspection too to be formulated by the Bureau of Health Facilities and Services (BHFS) in consultation with various stakeholders. The BHFS shall develop the standards and technical requirements for oral and maxillo-facial surgery and include them in the inspection tool for ambulatory surgical clinic.

The Inspection Tool shall be made available to the general public by posting in the DOH official website (www.doh.gov.ph).
