CONFISCATION OF ILLEGALLY USED NUMBER PLATES AND STICKERS



It has been reported that a number of license plates and stickers have been lost for which a general alarm had been issued by the Chief of the Law Enforcement Service, this Office. The use of these lost number plates and stickers by unscrupulous persons for the purpose of misleading the authorities is not remote and considered illegal.

In view thereof, you are hereby directed to confiscate the number plates/stickers whenever found attached to another vehicle, cause their impoundment, proper investigation conducted and necessary charges filed in appropriate courts as evidence may warrant, report of which to this Office should be submitted soonest.
