[ MARINA ADVISORY NO. 2013-22, October 01, 2013 ]

ADVISORY TO ALLOW SHIP/S TO SAIL AFTER ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS

For the safe and orderly resumption of service in all affected areas during adverse weather conditions, and to prevent the stranding of passengers at ports and terminals, all domestic ships that were not granted clearance by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) due to tropical depression, storm, typhoon, or other weather disturbances hoisted in the affected areas within the ships’ areas of operation, may be allowed to sail outside their authorized sailing schedules, subject to the following conditions:
  1. That the weather condition has improved, as determined by PAG-ASA, and as validated by the PCG based on the actual weather and tidal/wave condition at the affected port/s of origin;
  2. That the PCG shall ensure the orderly and priority clearance of ships;
  3. That the authority to operate the ship in the form of Certificate of Public Convenience, Special Permit, Provisional Relief or other authority to operate is valid and has not yet expired, and that all the ship’s documents remain valid/updated; and,
  4. That a letter-notice shall be submitted to the MARINA covering the adjustment of schedule of trips due to adverse weather conditions within twenty-four (24) hours from the date of the ship’s departure in the affected port/s.

For guidance and compliance of all concerned.
