AMENDMENTS TO THE DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 14-3 SERIES OF 2014 (DAO 14-3, S.2 014) OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10642, AN ACT STRENGTHENING CONSUMER PROTECTION IN THE PURCHASE OF BRAND NEW MOTOR VEHICLES

Pursuant to Section 13 of Republic Act No. 10642, the following are hereby promulgated amending certain provisions of the DAO 14-3, s.2 014

Section 1. Section 2.6, Rule I, Title II of DAO 14-3, Series of 2014 is hereby amended to read as follows:

“ 2.6. The Dealer [returns] presents the parts replaced and furnishes the results of any test activity which was performed, if any.”

Section 2. Section 2.7, Rule I, Title II of DAO 14-3, Series of 2014 is hereby amended to read as follows:

“ 2.7. [Consumer receives the unit and if the motor vehicle is not returned within fifteen (15) days from release, the repair is deemed accepted.] The Consumer receives the motor vehicle unit and is given fifteen (15) days to evaluate the repair/s performed and the need, if any, for adjustments and/or additional modifications related to the same nonconformity.

The recurrence of the same non-conformity and return of the motor vehicle after the lapse of fifteen (15) day evaluation period will be counted as a next repair attempt.”

Section 3. Effectivity. This Amendment shall take effect immediately after its publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) newspaper of general circulation, whichever comes first, and copy thereof furnished the Office of the National Administrative Register at the UP Law Center, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.
