CLARIFICATION ON MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. AVT-2014-1895 DATED 11 DECEMBER 2014 RE: REPLACEMENT OF THE OLD LICENSE PLATES FOR MOTOR VEHICLES

Memorandum Circular No. AVT-2014-1895 dated 11 December 2014, states that “Starting 01 January 2015, all 4-Wheeled Motor Vehicles that will RENEW its registration shall be required to apply for the replacement of its old license plates.”

For uniform implementation, it is hereby clarified that no renewal transaction shall be accepted unless the replacement of old license plates is processed simultaneously with the renewal transaction in accordance with the schedule.

For those motor vehicles whose registration were already renewed using the automated environment and have been collected the plate production fee of One Hundred Fifty Pesos (Php150.00) and clearance fee of Thirty Pesos (Php30.00) the total amount shall be credited to the next renewal registration of the same motor vehicles considering that the same is not due to the government. For those renewal registration transactions, where the replacement plate was manually processed and a Legal Research Fund of Ten Pesos (Php10.00) was collected, the said amount shall likewise be credited for next renewal of registration.
