CLASSIFICATION AND REGISTRATION OF MOTORELA PER PHILIPPINE NATIONAL STANDARD (PNS) 1891:2006 ON THE CLASSIFICATION OF CUSTOMIZED LOCAL ROAD VEHICLES

In accordance with the provisions of Sections 7 and 8, Article II of Republic Act 4136 on the Registration Classification and Registration Fees, the motorcycle with attached two (2) wheels on the rear or also known as “Motorela,” per Category L5 of the Philippine National Standard (PNS) 1891:2006 on the Classification of Customized Local Road Vehicles, shall be registered under the classification of “Non-Conventional Motorcycle.”
The operation of Motorela, like motorcycle with sidecar shall be limited within or along barangay roads only, it can only pass the main thoroughfares, highways or national road for purposes of crossing only when the barangay road is divided by a highway.
All District/Extension Offices authorized to register the abovementioned subject shall ensure that mandatory documentary requirements are complete and in order prior to its acceptance for registration.
