(NAR) VOL. 26 NO. 3/ JULY - SEPTEMBER 2015

[ DFA Department Order No. 14-2015, August 26, 2015 ]

EXTENDING THE VALIDITY OF PHILIPPINE PASSPORTS

Adopted: 26 August 2015
Date Filed: 16 September 2015

In view of delay in issuance of e-passports, DFA-OCA, RCOs (including Satellite Offices) and all Philippine Foreign Service Posts are hereby authorized to extend the validity of expired or expiring Philippine Passports of Filipinos at no expense (gratis).

The extension of the validity of passports is for a period of not less than one (1) year but not more than two (2) years from the date of expiry. The extension shall only be granted to applicants whose applications were submitted not later than 30 December 2015.

Pursuant to Section 1.d under Department Order No. 07-00 dated 08 May 2000, the waiver of fees shall extend to applicants for extension of validity of passports as described above. This policy is to allow traveling Filipinos to pass safely and freely with valid passports not burdened by the delays in passport production, a situation not of their own choice.

This Order shall take effect immediately covering all previous instructions issued on the subject.
