AMENDING SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 03-05-2007

Pursuant to Act 3846 (Radio Control Law), Executive Order No. 546 series of 1979, Republic Act No. 7925 (Public Telecommunications Policy Act) and in the interest of public service, and in order to keep pace with the development in wireless technology to ensure wider access to the limited radio spectrum and the use of cost effective technology, Sections 1 and 2 of Memorandum Circular No. 03-05-2007 is hereby amended as follows:

  1. DEFINITION OF TERMS

    Medical Data Systems (MEDS) is a collection of medical devices having short range RF transmitting capability that are associated with specific patient, consisting of at least one active medical implant or body-worn device, together with other devices external to the body, that have the ability to communicate with each other using frequencies in the 401-402 MHz and 405-406 MHz bands.


  2. OPERATING PARAMETERS

    The limits of technical parameter herein prescribed should not be exceeded by any function of the equipment or by any means.

Any circular, memorandum, order or parts thereof inconsistent with the provision of this circular shall be deemed amended or superseded accordingly.

This Circular shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation and three (3) certified true copies furnished the UP Law Center.
